Normally, we like to use this space to promote local community events, in the belief that McClelland Sound has a responsibility to advocate for non-profit organizations to make Wichita a better place  for our employees, customers and community-at-large.

COVID-19 has messed things up, to put it mildly. So for now, we’re using this space to tell you about the Wichita Family Crisis Center [WFCC].  Since 1976, the first emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence has operated with the primary goal to empower, strengthen and stabilize families impacted by domestic violence. Due to the pandemic, the WFCC isn’t holding an event we can promote. They are continuing to provide services, and because of the pandemic and the stresses it puts on families – economically, socially, psychologically – the WFCC has had increased numbers of women (and their children)  seeking shelter from domestic violence. Now is a good time to learn more about their work, and offer support if you are able.

We look forward to the day when this crisis is truly over, and we can resume promoting the events that make Wichita such a great place to live, work, and do business.
